FAQ’S

Commonly asked questions about Manufacturing Materials

Properties may vary with part geometry, print orientation and temperature but tests on Fuse 1 prints in Nylon 12 report the following: Ultimate Tensile Strength 50 MPa. Tensile Modulus 1850 MPa Elongation at Break (X/Y) 11% and (Z) 6%
Yes, both the Form 3+ and Form 3L are widely used for manufacturing applications and are suitable for a vast range of resins. The 3B+ and 3BL are the alternative, healthcare-specific printers when biocompatible and dental resins are required.
PEEK is a high-performance polymer, 3D printed PEEK parts provide excellent resistance to high-temperature as well as resistance to chemicals, wear and fatigue. PEEK is flame resistant (Class V-0 according to UL 94) with low smoke and toxicity. PEEK can also be used as an effective electric insulator in a wide range of frequencies with outstanding thermal and environmental resistance. It has a range of uses including applications up to 230°C. medical, slipping and sliding applications, machine and device parts.
PEEK can be printed on the 3DGence Industry F340, F350, F421 with ESM-10 soluble support material, or with a breakaway support. The process requires a high extrusion temperature, heated bed, heated build chamber and annealing of the print.
ULTEM™ 9085 Filament is available to print via CFR technology on the FX20 in Markforged’s new, giant 3200cc XL spool (4x the standard spool size). ULTEM™ 9085 filament is a high-temp, extra durable thermoplastic with excellent Flame, Smoke and Toxicity (FST) properties making it suitable for aerospace applications.
