The Inventure is the second 3D printer to be launched by Zortrax. It joins the M200 – one of our favourite 3D printers for professionals – in the Zortrax range.
It isn’t a replacement for the M200 however; it’s a different proposition altogether, with the Inventure being designed for ease of use first and foremost. It is very much a plug and play 3D printer.
A compact and precise 3D printer for everyone
The Zortrax Inventure is a revelation. It has features that were previously only found in the most expensive and highest-quality 3D printers, and it offers one of the best printing experiences of any printer in its price range.
It stands out in the crowded entry-level market with its price/quality ratio, and the wide range of applications it’s suited to.
First and foremost, let’s address quality. The Inventure has been designed to offer the best quality for the price. It has a fixed printing temperature from a heated chamber and double heads that print simultaneously from basic and support materials. It offers a roomy 140 x 140 x 140mm build area and it can print at a layer height of 90 microns (0.09mm).
It has a closed casing with a HEPA filter for safety, and the printer cartridges can be easily removed and replaced. It’s simply a case of click and go. The Inventure printer also has an embedded display with a handy notification system.
Most interestingly of all, the Inventure is equipped with the DSS (Dissolvable Support System). With this system, you can print intricate and complex models in one go, and place your models into a special liquid where after a few hours, the support structures disappear. This feature eliminates manual processing and as a result, the risk of damaging prints with your hands.
Everything you need to get started in one box
To reiterate our point that this is very much a plug and play 3D printer, Zortrax has included everything you need to get started 3D printing in one box. In the box, you will find two filament cartridges of Z-ULTRAT Plus and Z-SUPPORT, a copy of Z-SUITE, a DSS (Dissolvable Support Structure) Station and a Starter Kit to help you get started.
We recommend the Inventure to home users and professionals first and foremost, due to its stylish design and small footprint. Educational institutions such as schools and colleges will benefit from it for the very same reasons.
For engineering applications, the Inventure is a good shout because of the high dimensional accuracy it offers. However, we recommend the M200 over the Inventure for some engineering applications because it is more rugged and has a wider range of features.
