We were delighted to welcome the Rt Hon Julian Smith MP, Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasury & Chief Whip to GoPrint3D Headquarters.

We invited Julian to visit as he’s our local MP and we knew he would be interested in seeing the 3D printing technology as well as speaking to our apprentices (one of Julian’s priorities) who have made a great start to their careers in the rapidly growing 3D printing industry:

As part of his visit Julian surprised Sam Carr by presenting him with his certificate for completing his City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration.

We also presented him with a 3D printed tarantula mobile phone holder:

The joke wasn’t lost on Julian as his predecessor had left a live tarantula on his desk when vacating the position of chief whip:
