Ultimaker Cura version 4.13 is now available for download, bringing with it significantly faster print speeds and cross-platform material profile synchronization (letting you sync materials across all S-line 3D printers).
Cura 4.13 is also compatible with other third-party printers, but any speed and ecosystem improvements are exclusive to Ultimaker printers.
Faster print speeds
The big improvement with Cura 4.13 is faster print speeds for Ultimaker printers, which was achieved with two simple tweaks:
- A new 0.3 layer height profile for the default and frat intent, enabling 2x the print speed without increasing print core size.
- Faster 100% infill printing with a more efficient printing pattern, resulting in 3x faster printing when printing solids.
Cross-platform material profile synchronization
Cura 4.13 lets you sync your material profiles across your suite of S-line 3D printers, reducing the steps it takes to synchronise machines. This is a big update, automating the communication between Ultimaker Marketplace, Ultimaker Cura, and the Ultimaker Digital Factory, creating a seamless experience.
Additional improvements
Cura 4.13 now automatically adds thumbnails to 3mf files, a feature produced in collaboration with FieldofView.
Additionally, Cura now supports an additional set of third-party 3D printers, opening up the software to more non-Ultimaker users. The full list of compatible 3D printers can be seen on GitHub.
